REDEL KFT building

REDEL Elektronika Kft, Budapest, Hungary

Dedicated to machining and injection moulding of metal and plastic components for the Group, as well as to REDEL P medical connector assembly

REDEL Elektronika Kft was founded in Budapest on 1st April 1991, only a year and a half after the fall of the Berlin Wall. Eastern Europe had started opening up and LEMO was keen to be there. The Hungarian factory has fulfilled LEMO’s expectations and has continued to develop at a fast pace since its creation.

By the end of 2007, REDEL Kft had developed so successfully that expansion became necessary. The construction of a new plant was decided on an 8,000 m2-land that LEMO had purchased back in 1991. The inauguration of the modern 10,000m2 factory took place in 2010.

REDEL Elektronika Kft continues to play the key role that LEMO had envisaged. In addition to machining, plastic injection moulding and plating operations, this is where the REDEL P medical connectors are being assembled.

The assembly processes have been transferred from REDEL in Ste-Croix, Switzerland", explains Sándor Szücs, current Hungarian MD. “We perform the complete assembly, complying obviously with the Swiss quality standards!”
LEMO has never stopped developing the Hungarian subsidiary’s potential and currently employs 250 people.

COELVER, Lonay, Switzerland

Specialised in miniature coaxial connectors and fibre optic connector assembly

Founded in 1976 in Ticino (Italian-speaking southern canton of Switzerland), COELVER SA joined the LEMO Group in 1992. Specialising in miniature coaxial and fibre optic connectors, the small company (20 employees) represents the fourth brand of the Group (alongside LEMO, REDEL and NORTHWIRE). COELVER connectors are used in non-invasive test & measurement, data transfer, research and communications applications, where their small size is highly sought after.

COELVER shares the former LEMO building in Lonay with LEMO Mechanics, R&D Automation and Rebellion Timepieces. COELVER had its own processes, quality and planning system until 2019.

Over time, its activities have evolved from machining and cable assembly to the manual assembly of COELVER, REDEL and LEMO connectors. Its clean room is specially dedicated to fibre optic assembly.
